Introduction to University
Zhejiang University (ZJU) is one of China’s top higher education institutions, as well as one of its oldest; its roots can be traced back to 1897 and the founding of the Qiushi Academy. Located in Hangzhou – one of China’s most picturesque cities – the University is organized across seven faculties and 39 schools, including Science, Engineering,Information Technology, Agriculture, Life and Environment Sciences,Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Arts and Humanities.With a cohort of 5,123 international students, and around 8,000 faculty and students who participate annually in various overseas mobility programs, ZJU fully harnesses its extensive network to nurture talent with a global outlook.

Language Proficiency Certificate
- Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must have HSK certificate. Specific HSK requirements could be found in the catalog of Chinese-taught undergraduate programs. Applicants whose compulsory courses were taught in Chinese during secondary education (junior and senior high school) can be exempt from submitting HSK certificate.
- There are no Chinese language proficiency requirements for the applicants of English-taught programs. If applicants’ native language is not English, they should provide score report of English language test (e.g. TOEFL/IELTS/OTHER).

Career paths in China after graduation:
1. Chinese Government Scholarship-Bilateral Program (CSC Type A)
Only open to Chinese-taught programs. Applicants should directly contact the dispatching authorities for overseas study of their home countries. When completing the scholarship application form, the applicant should select Zhejiang University as the first priority institution.
2. Zhejiang Government Scholarship (for New International Undergraduate Students)
Only open to Chinese-taught programs. Applicants need to fill in the Zhejiang Government Scholarship Application Form(Download)and upload it together with other application materials to the online application system.
3. Scholarships for English-taught Dual Degree Programs (Haining)
Full or partial scholarships are offered to outstanding applicants for English-taught Dual Degree Programs. Applicants must apply directly to ZJU-UIUC Institute or ZJU-UoE Institute.
