Introduction to University
Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU), founded in 1956, is located in one of the four metropolitan areas in Zhejiang Province—Jinhua—Yiwu Metropolitan areas. Jinhua, located in the southern part of Shanghai, enjoys very convenient transportation with 100 minutes to Shanghai by the high-speed rail.
ZJNU is one of the five key universities in Zhejiang Province, and one of the top 100 universities in China. The university has over 30,000 students including more than 3,000 international students. Chemistry, Materialogy, Mathematics and Engineering are the four top 1% disciplines in the world according to the ESI (Essential Science Index) global ranking. The university consists of 19 colleges and offers 68 undergraduate programs, 53 master’s programs, 28 doctoral programs and 1 non-degree Chinese language program.
The university is authorized by the Ministry of Education to recruit international students who are sponsored by Chinese Government Scholarship and Confucius Institute Scholarship. Also, international students can apply for Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship, Scholarship of Jinhua Municipal People's Government and Zhejiang Normal University Scholarship at ZJNU.
