XJTU has fully implemented the ideas of "cultivation in conduct, impartation of knowledge, training inabilities, innovation in thinking" in the cultivation of talents, and established the system of "general education plus professional education with wide-ranged knowledge" and "Undergraduate - Postgraduate -Doctoral Students" through-type talent cultivation mode.

Features： 

In 2006, XJTU took the lead among Chinese universities to create a system of university colleges modeled on the traditional Chinese academy of learning. This twin-college system is aimed at giving our students the best possible chance for success. In 2017, XJTU set upthe Undergraduate School to carry out the three-level administrative mode of "University - School - Department", and set up a management system for undergraduate talents training of "collaboration, connection, coordination between teaching and educating." Based on the Qian Xuesen School, XJTU applies Qian Xuesen's spirit and wisdom to teaching practice to explore new mechanism for cultivating innovative talents, and has established top talent training trial classes including the “Exceptionally Gifted Juveniles Class”, "Qian Xuesen Pilot Class", "Zonglian Pilot Class", "Pilot Classes for Talents of Basic Subject" and “AI Pilot  Class”, etc. XJTU has received endorsement from students and parents for its unique educational model, its favorable study environment, excellent teachers and substantial teaching resources, and its positive satisfactory teaching results.

So far, XJTU has won 78 national-level awards for excellence in teaching, upgraded 35 courses to be the National-level Quality Courses, 23 to be the National-level Quality-Resources-Sharing Courses, 11 National-level Video Open Courses, 31 National-level Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers, and 9 National-level Teaching Teams. To date, 27 XJTU student dissertations have won an award as “China's 100 best doctoral dissertations”; another 46 have been nominated for that award.

Name of Scholarship:

1. Chinese Government Scholarship

Chinese Government Scholarship supports bachelor students to study Chinese-taught programs. Applicants must apply through dispatching authorities for overseas study of their home countries. When filling the application form, applicants must fill in “Xi’an Jiaotong University” as the first priority Institution.

2. XJTU Siyuan Scholarship

XJTU Siyuan Scholarship supports bachelor students to study Chinese-taught programs. Applicants can submit their applications directly in the International Student Application System of Xi’an Jiaotong University. The scholarship includes tuition and living expenses. Scholarship covers the first year of degree education; the following academic year shall be comprehensively evaluated according to the student’s academic performance in the university.

3. XJTU--Xi’an City Government Belt and Road Scholarship

Xi’an City Government Belt and Road Scholarship supports bachelor students to study Chinese-taught programs. XJTU may offer some tuition discount. Applicants can submit their applications directly in the International Student Application System of Xi’an Jiaotong University. Scholarship covers the first year of degree education; the following academic year shall be comprehensively evaluated according to the student’s academic performance in the university.

4. Shaanxi Sanqin International Student Scholarship, XJTU International Student Commendation Award

Shaanxi Sanqin International Student Scholarship, XJTU International Student Commendation Award are one-time awards. It supports on campus self-funded international students. After the self-funded student entry the school, they can pay attention to relevant notices of the university and submit their application materials as required.

Application Requirements (Including grades requirements):

1. 18-25 years of age & with good health status;

2. Valid foreign ordinary passport;

3. High school / senior secondary or advanced diploma; (Applicants who are still in the last year of high school can provide expected graduation certificate for submitting application while the official diploma must be provided before Sep 1st, 2022 upon enrollment)

4. Language skills

Chinese taught program: Submit Chinese proficiency certificate. Proficiency must be above HSK 4 or equivalent. (Applicants who do not meet the language requirement are allowed to take foundation courses and get enrolled for degree program after passing the relevant review and exams; information and details for foundation program can be find in our website: http://sie.xjtu.edu.cn/)

  English taught program: Submit English proficiency certificate. IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 (or above), or other equivalent English proficiency certificates recognized by our university.

  Native speakers of Chinese or English can be exempted from the corresponding language proficiency certificate after being recognized by our university.

5. Comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Education’s document. [2020] No.12 and the relevant regulations of our university.
